Are mornings a real nightmare for you? Casal Garcia gives you 7 tips to adopt a morning routine that will allow you to start your day with more joy!
Mornings can be the most complicated time of the day. They are that moment when we reflect on everything we need to do until we can go home or go out with friends: work, study, clean…. Some people start the morning unmotivated just thinking about it, and this not only affects their mood but also their productivity!
If you are not an early riser but want to fight it, today we share with you 7 tips to adopt a morning routine that will make you start the day with more joy and positivity!
Is it important to have a morning routine?
Getting out of bed straight to work is not healthy. Aside from skipping the most important meal of the day, or eating it while running to catch the bus, you don’t let your body and mind wake up naturally.
By having a morning routine, you will be able to start your day more softly, strike a balance between your physical and psychological well-being, avoid fatigue and reduce stress, increase your productivity and face challenges with a very positive disposition.
The things you do in the first 60 minutes after waking up will determine your behavior and mindset for the rest of the day.
The ideal morning routine to start the day with more joy:
1. Early to bed and early to rise
The habits you have before going to bed influence how you will wake up the next morning. If you go to be bed late at night or don’t get enough sleep, the next morning will be painful. It is recommended to always go to bed and get up at the same time and sleep between 7 to 9 hours daily. Let go of the Netflix’s night marathons or the hours spent scrolling on Instagram until you fall over.
2. Let the light in
If you have trouble waking up in the morning, the best trick we can give you is to leave the shutter or blind with some open cracks. This way, natural light will softly enter the room, signaling to your brain that it is time to wake up – it will slow down melatonin production and increase adrenaline production. When the alarm goes off it won’t be so hard to get out of bed.
3. Music to your ears
You can’t fail to include music in your morning routine. As you prepare to leave home, put on a spirited playlist to start the new day with a positive vibe. Did you know that music reduces stress, reduces anxiety and improves memory?
The fast and energetic rhythms of the song will wake you up and give you that stamina you need to face the day ahead. But be careful not to wake the neighbors up!
4. Nothing a good breakfast can’t fix
After 8 hours without eating, it is normal to wake up with that bad mood in the morning. Nothing a good breakfast won’t fix! And there are no excuses for skipping this step in your new morning routine.
If your time is short in the morning and you cannot prepare this meal, we have two solutions for you: wake up 10 minutes early or leave it prepared the night before. Before attacking your breakfast, be sure to drink a glass of water to wake your body up and prepare it to receive the best meal of the day.
5. Make a technological detox
Don’t start your day glued to technology. That old habit of picking up your mobile phone after barely waking up or surfing social networks while having breakfast really must end!
Using your phone as soon as the day starts will put you under stress and most likely you’ll be late! Do a detox, at least on the first hour of the day.
6. Exercise the body (and the mind)
Integrate exercise and meditation into your morning routine. At first it may seem impossible to get up early to exercise, but over time you will enjoy the feeling: the days will look more productive and your body will react much positively.
Workout in the morning improves your blood flow and increases the body’s oxygen levels. This will give you plenty of energy!
7. Be thankful and smile
You can associate this step with the meditation suggested in the previous point. Forget all your worries for a few minutes. Make a list of things you are grateful for in life, or positive things that happened on the day before. It is good to appreciate the good things in life, like your favorite Casal Garcia.
